Therefore, as you go, disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 ISV
CFE has at times lead evangelistic outreaches. One of the most successful has been with a church in Cambodia. When we started, Pastor Timothy and his wife Sieng Lai had one church with about 30 members. Today they started eight churches, twelve children’s outreaches, and four youth outreaches. They have begun an orphanage, but currently they only have support for two children. The great poverty in Cambodia is heartbreaking, but it is also an opportunity for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to shine. Pastor Timothy is the young man on the left in the picture.
Timothy’s wife, Sieng Lai (center) is ministering to two of the youth
leaders. The youth leaders are
absolutely amazing. They do not come
from Christian homes, but they have come to know the Lord through the ministry
of pastors Timothy and Sieng Lai. And
now they serve by leading many of the children’s outreaches: sharing the Gospel
to children who have not heard before and working to disciple those children
into a relationship with Christ. But these young people still live with their
parents, many of whom don’t want their children to go to a Christian
church. These young ministers are often
scolded or beaten by their fathers and told to never go to the Christian church
again. But they do keep going. And more
than that, they continue to minister the Gospel to others. This is amazing in
that so few people in this area of Cambodia are Christians. But the Lord has provided these determined
young people to be a new generation of leaders. Please pray for these brave young people to
joyfully continue in the ministry and pray there will be some funding to help
support their ministries.
In Pastor Timothy’s home town, an outreach was done where the Lord poured out his grace in miracles, and many in this village were healed, delivered from demons, and believed in Christ for the first time. Previous to this outreach, there were no Christians in this village. This is the eighth church plant for Pastor Timothy.
